We’re on the hunt for a creative problem solver with a flair for delivering compelling and persuasive marketing campaigns, someone who gets a thrill from providing brilliant customer service and who is able to write engaging copy.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a strong team spirit who is able to juggle multiple projects with a smile on their face.
Gateshead College, the home of education with employment edge and the No.1 college in the North East, is looking for a marketing and communications professional to join their award-winning marketing and communications team.
You’ll devise marketing campaigns for B2B and B2C markets that integrate traditional and digital tactics and are based on customer insights. You’ll produce on brand content and copy that tells our story and manage events and sponsorship agreements.
You'll also manage key accounts and projects, providing tactical marketing and communications support and advice to internal and external customers and get to help shape brand and recruitment campaigns with a bunch of highly-skilled, creative folk.
You must be…
• An experienced marketing and communications professional
• Able to devise campaigns that integrate traditional and digital tactics
• Open, honest, hard-working and fun to work with
• Able to understand brand and work to brand guidelines
• A brilliant copy writer who understands tone of voice
• Interested in education and the power it has to transform lives
• Able to spot mistakes at 20 paces with a keen eye for detail
• A people person, as comfortable with a CEO as you are with a 14 year old
• A team player who enjoys collaboration
• Able to explain ideas, give sound marketing advice and get people on board
• Someone who takes personal pride in their work and always strives to do better

Background information
Gateshead College is a further education college and was established on November 15, 1995 at Durham Road in Low Fell, Gateshead. The original campus was closed as part of a planned move in January 2008. The college moved into a £39 million new main site located at the Baltic Quayside in Gateshead. More than £75 million has seen the development of six campuses, for academic and vocational courses.

The College has its own car park, but at busy times alternative parking is available nearby.
There is a charge for parking. Students can apply for a permit to allow free parking during study time.
Our campus is easily accessible by all methods of travel. We would encourage you to consider alternatives to car travel which can help keep you and the environment healthy. There are bus stops outside the Baltic Campus for the following services, which links with Gateshead Interchange - Q1 Quaylink, 93/94 The Loop. The nearest Metro stations to the Baltic Campus are Gateshead Interchange and Central Station.

The nearest Metro station to the Academy for Sport is Gateshead Stadium; it's about a 10 minute walk. Parking is available at the Academy for Sport and is operated on a first come, first served basis. There are three car parks which are free and you don't need to display a permit or ticket. Q1 and Q2 Quaylink buses run up to every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening. The 93/94 Loop bus runs from Gateshead Interchange and Heworth Interchange to four Gateshead College campuses; Baltic Campus, Academy for Sport, Skills Academy for Automotive, Manufacturing Engineering & Logistics and Skills Academy for Construction.
