Dubai British School Jumeirah Park

Dubai British School is a thriving British international school, located in the Jumeirah Park area of Dubai. A Taaleem school, DBSJP offers high quality education to over a thousand students aged 5 to 18.

The school is unique in many ways; it has been designed to the highest specifications with the 21st century learning needs of students in mind. The facilities are second to none and include a state-of-the-art performing arts theatre; radio station; large, light and airy classrooms; a competition indoor 8-lane swimming pool with training pool; large sports field with tennis courts; shaded outdoor learning spaces; innovation labs and food technology room.

The quality of the building and facilities are matched by the quality and experience of the staff, all appointed to support the school’s vision of providing outstanding education from Year 1 to Year 13, whilst ensuring a harmonious and happy schooling experience for all.

Our multi-cultural environment offers an exceptional combination of the best of a well-rounded British education delivered within a truly international community, enriched by a variety of cultures that characterize our increasingly connected world.

In the pursuit of the highest academic standards, we provide a caring and supportive environment, which allows children to thrive academically, socially and emotionally, with each individual talent being nurtured and celebrated.

Our Curriculum

DBSJP follows the National Curriculum for England, from EYFS through to GCSE, BTEC and A Level examination courses. The curriculum is significantly enhanced by the local context and culture. The opportunities that students enjoy outside the classroom are just as important as the main curriculum and we offer an extensive, competitive and varied extra-curricular activities programme (ECA).

What do we look for?

This role will be crucial in driving up standards in the quality of teaching, curriculum content, student assessment and outcomes. We are seeking a dynamic, energetic leader with a clear idea of pedagogy and a proven track record of department improvement.

As a minimum, we expect the following from you:

• Bachelors of Education; or PGCE and a degree in the subject area that you teach

• At least four years’ experience teaching the National Curriculum for England in the UK or an international setting

Aside from your qualifications, personality is very important. We look for inspirational teachers who leave a lasting impression on students for years to follow. If you are able to demonstrate outstanding standards of teaching and learning, with a passionate, enthusiastic and creative attitude then we want to hear from you.

How to apply: Candidates are to apply directly through the TES portal.

Closing date for applications is 21st August 2021. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.

This is a temporary contract from September 2021. As this is a locally hired position, the school will not sponsor you for UAE residency purposes. You are required to have a valid UAE Residence Visa.
