About our school

The British School of Nanjing (BSN) offers a modern and vibrant education to boys and girls aged 2-18. The school serves expatriate families looking to provide their children with a private education of the highest standard.

About the role

Join our fast-paced international environment, and you will deliver UK National Curriculum and IGSCE or International Baccalaureate programmes. You will challenge your students to set ambitious targets for themselves and seek out innovative teaching practices to enhance our students’ experiences and outcomes. The ability to offer Maths and Science to Key Stage 3 is essential. The ability to offer either Maths or Biology to IGCSE and A-level will be a distinct advantage. 

About you

With the ability to create a classroom culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved, you will have a university degree in your specialist subject, a teaching qualification plus considerable teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum. Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues and peers.

A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement and personal investment within the classroom. You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions for China, including having a bachelor’s degree and two years of full-time teaching experience after graduation. You should be a native speaker of the language you teach.   You should also hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure or equivalent for countries lived in outside of the UK.
