About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mathematics Coordinator to join our vibrant and comprehensive team at St Francis Xavier College, Florey.

This position is for an initial two-year period with an opportunity for further extensions. Two further extensions (each of four years) may be offered based on performance outcomes. The position will be underpinned by a permanent (ongoing) teaching position within Catholic Education. 


Essential Criteria

    • A sound understanding of Catholic schools and a demonstrated commitment to the goals of Catholic education
    • Articulates a vision for the Mathematics Department and demonstrates an understanding of the role and responsibility of a Studies Coordinator in offering leadership in the College
    • Competence in developing and writing curriculum for the Mathematics Department using the Australian Curriculum through a collaborative process and evaluates courses or units regularly to make appropriate modifications
    • Competence in teaching across a range of year levels and evidence of successful incorporation of a variety of pedagogical practices
    • Relevant qualifications and recent study and/or professional development
    • The management skills and experience to coordinate the Mathematics Department effectively
    • The capacity to develop and maintain effective and supportive interpersonal relationships with students, colleagues and the school community and to build meaningful community partnerships to support authentic learning opportunities for students
