We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a well-qualified and experienced leader of mathematics who can deepen and develop the quality of the provision and further improve the outcomes of our students in this large 11-19 Academy.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record of not only improving student outcomes in mathematics, but also the ability to motivate, support and enthuse our strong and committed team of mathematics specialists.

We want a leader who is an ambitious team player who will possess the vision, drive and energy to ensure students across all key stages enjoy and achieve exceptionally well in this core subject.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach across all key stages and should be:

  • An innovative mathematics leader, who is also an outstanding teacher in their own right
  • Able to demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and the raising of standards
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to model an aspirational vision to colleagues in the faculty and across the Academy community.

For an exceptional candidate, there is the possibility of joining the Academy's Senior Team as an Associate Leader, a salary aligned to the leadership scale and ,if relevant, a supportive and generous relocation package.

Plume had a successful Ofsted inspection in 2014 and was judged to be 'Good' across all the set criteria. Mathematics results at GCSE last year were broadly in line with national expectations and our mathematics/Further mathematics results at A-Level are a strength of the Sixth Form.

We are a friendly and supportive Academy where the professional development of all our staff is given a very high priority. Ofsted acknowledged the high quality of teaching and excellent relationships in their last visit.
