Job overview

We are seeking a highly motivated aspiring Leader of Mathematics to join our outstanding department in the key role of KS5 leader. Woodkirk Academy currently has 120 students studying maths in the sixth form with numbers set to grow further. The successful candidate will be crucial in shaping the success of the maths department at KS5 where there is further progress to be made.

As our KS5 Leader you will have:

  • A vision and plan for achieving success with our KS5 maths students at all levels
  • Experience of teaching A-Level Maths
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum changes within KS5 including A-Level Maths, Further Maths and Core Maths
  • The ability to motivate and inspire students and staff
  • The interpersonal and organisational skills to co-ordinate the courses we offer
  • A clear commitment to improving your own and others’ performance through effective continuous professional development

We have the highest of expectations for both our students and staff and would expect the successful candidate to be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record across all key stages. Staff are encouraged to be innovative and creative in enabling students to achieve the best possible progress and outcomes and to work collaboratively in achieving this. As KS5 Leader you would be expected to model and share the best classroom practice with all staff within the department.
