Job overview
Christopher Hatton is an outstanding school and our mathematics standards are very high. Our experienced maths specialist HLTA is leaving us this year after many years and he leaves behind excellent systems that now need someone with a passion for maths to take them over. You will work with the support of SLT and the maths lead but the successful candidate will be able to manage their workload and timetable independently and enjoy autonomy. We know you will enjoy working in our friendly and happy school.
The successful applicant will ideally already have a deep understanding of "maths mastery" techniques or be willing to undertake training to understand and use our effective practices. We use White Rose and NCTEM resources across the school from EY to Y6. The role will involve small group teaching of maths, support for other TAs in running maths programmes and some whole class teaching if this suited the individual though this is not essential.
This post would particularly suit an experienced educator with family commitments requiring flexible hours or a retired individual looking to re-join the workforce on a part time basis, though we welcome applications from all interested and suitably qualified individuals. The initial contract is fixed term for 1 year but the role could continue beyond that date.
Camden Council values the diversity of its community and aims to have a workforce that reflects this. We therefore encourage applications from all sections of the community.
Christopher Hatton School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
