Job overview

ArtsEd, one of the UK’s leading, and most exciting Art’s schools based in Chiswick, West London is seeking to appoint, for  September 2021, an outstanding Maths Teacher for KS3, 4 and 5.

ArtsEd Day School and Sixth Form is an exceptional independent school for 11 to 18-year-olds where pupils immerse themselves in high-calibre academic study whilst developing their talent and their passion for performance. Founded 100 years ago by two ground-breaking educationalists, Grace Cone and Olive Ripman, our ethos remains true to their vision: to provide a broad and balanced education stretching pupils to achieve both their academic and artistic potential.

Our combination of talented teachers meeting young talented minds creates a truly dynamic environment for teaching and learning. Dedicated staff build warm and constructive learning relationships with pupils, creating a strong ethos of nurture and individualism that enables each pupil to flourish as a person, as a learner and as a performer. Our successful balance of vocational and academic classes instils in our pupils a deep-seated confidence and a broad range of skills, giving them the scope at 16 or 18+ to pursue a path that’s right for them.

Exceptional pastoral care combined with expert teachers inspire pupils’ confidence, curiosity and commitment to all of their studies, both academic and vocational. Our aim is for every pupil to leave ArtsEd as a creative, articulate and imaginative young adult, assured of their ability to achieve their best in their chosen field.

Our ethos is one of shared responsibility to which all teachers make a significant contribution. As many departments consist of just one member it is vital that teachers contribute throughout the year to the school’s strategic planning.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of delivering the Edexcel GCSE and A Level qualifications.  They will work within existing structures to ensure that pupils receive teaching of the highest standards and have the opportunity to achieve to the best of their ability.   The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner whose work will  reflect the school’s and the department's ethos. Using their excellent planning, organisational and communication skills, they will ensure pupils work to a high standard, against clear goals and to their maximum potential.

ArtsEd can offer you:

  • A competitive salary
  • A great work life balance
  • Talented staff and students
  • Brand new facilities
  • Tickets to all  performances across Day School, Sixth Form, BA and MA
  • A great staff package including Scottish Widows contributory pension scheme, cycle to work scheme and health scheme

The Arts Educational Schools London, is an independent secondary school and higher education provider based in Chiswick, West London.

The Arts Educational Schools have their origin in schools founded in 1919 by Grace Cone and in 1922 by Olive Ripman. The Cone and Ripman schools were pioneers in providing  talented children with a general academic education in conjunction with specialised training in dance, drama, music and art, preparing young men and women for professional careers in or connected with the theatre. In 1939 the two schools amalgamated to become the Cone Ripman School.

Today ArtsEd continues to support a world–renowned,co-educational, independent vocational school for pupils aged 11–18 years as well as a professional conservatoire, with two main divisions, offering BA and MA degrees in Acting and BA, and MA degrees in Musical Theatre, all of which are validated by City University and accredited by Drama UK.

ArtsEd is extremely proud of its outreach programme which is central to their commitment to ensure inclusivity across everything they do. Building strong links with youth groups, colleges and sixth forms, ArtsEd aims to provide talented young people with a clear pathway to vocational training and to introduce them to the unique energy and welcome of ArtsEd.
