We are looking to appoint a new Maths Hub Lead.  This is a full time position Maths Hub Lead Role (3 days p/w) Teacher of Maths in The St Marylebone CE School (2 days p/w) start date September 2022. 

 

Applications will be accepted from Primary practitioners who wish to only apply for the Maths Hub 3 days p/w role. We are looking for an experienced teacher with a deep passion for their subject. The Maths Lead role is suitable for those with management experience (ideally but not necessarily at Head of Department level). The post would suit an ambitious middle leader looking to broaden their subject expertise and responsibilities.  The salary will be in line with experience.

 

About the London Central and West Maths Hub

Led by The St Marylebone CE School. One of a network of 40 Maths Hubs in England, working together within the Maths Hubs Programme, which began in 2014. The programme is funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and coordinated by the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM). The core purpose of the Maths Hubs Programme, is to help schools and colleges lead improvement in mathematics education in England. We seek to harness all the maths leadership and expertise within an area, to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all students.

 

About the Department at The St Marylebone CE School

The Mathematics department is a leading example of excellence in Mathematics teaching, with teachers travelling from across the country to observe and learn from our teaching. As a department we value high quality CPD. Take up at A-Level is strong. The department is actively involved in the Teaching for Mastery Programme and mixed attainment teaching, St Marylebone’s Maths Hub status grew out of this success.

The St Marylebone CE School is an all-girls secondary with co-educational sixth form in Westminster, central London. It is affiliated with the Church of England and designated a National Teaching School. Since 2011, St Marylebone has had academy status.

The secondary school is located next to St Marylebone Parish Church and is a short walk from Regent’s Park. The sixth-form facilities are based in nearby Blandford Street. St Marylebone was founded in 1791 and it carries the motto "An opportunity to excel". There are currently around 1,100 students, 300 of whom are in the sixth form.

The school has been a specialist arts college since 1998. It has since become a specialist school in mathematics and computing, and in special educational needs. This level of expertise has ensured St Marylebone is a model academic setting.
