You will join a well-qualified, dynamic and forward thinking Maths team of six specialist teachers. Maths results have traditionally been strong and in 2018 the maths GCSE grades 9-4 was 55%.  We run a very popular GCE A Level maths course. There is the opportunity for the best mathematicians to pursue an A level in Further Maths at Key Stage 5 with this year’s cohort receiving offers to study maths at Russell group universities. The maths department is well resourced with flat screen TV’s and all students have logins for the mathswatch vle. The maths department runs intervention and enrichment clubs for students at the school. The department participates in the UK Maths Challenge annually with many of our students achieving the converted Gold Award. Students also participate in the Mayor of London ‘Count on Us Secondary Challenge’. 

Whitefield is a rapidly improving school. Our examination results continue to rise year on year. But we still have ambitious plans for the future.  The successful candidate will have access to Continuous Professional Development through our comprehensive internal and external CPD programme.
