Mathematics is a strong and key department within our school and consists of 12 full time colleagues. The department is at the heart of the school focus on Teaching & Learning with staff making regular contributions to departmental and whole school CPD.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach mathematics across the full age and ability range. The department currently offers AQA GCSE Mathematics, Further Mathematics and also GCSE Statistics within Key Stage 4. The KS3 scheme of work has been developed in line with the new GCSE to allow coverage of the key skills, themes and content across KS3 in preparation for the start of the GCSE course.
You will be joining a strong and hard working team of colleagues who share ideas, resources and support each other. The department is housed in suited classrooms.
The school is in a strong position to move forward and build upon positive elements of the latest Ofsted report. The department is well led and managed and staff work hard to create a team ethos. Outcomes have been strong for several years, but the department is now reflecting on how to ensure appropriate progress for all. Teaching and Learning are the main focus of our development plans, with individual coaching now becoming embedded within our weekly routines.
This is a great opportunity for new entrants or experienced colleagues to join a dynamic and supportive department.
