Job overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and committed teacher with a passion for Maths to join our school and become part of the school’s continuing journey towards “Outstanding”

Airedale Academy is an 11-18 school located in the former industrial heartland of Yorkshire, at the junction of the M62 and A1. We are the founding member of a growing and successful cross-phase multi-academy trust, at the heart of a close-knit community and with a focus on supporting children in disadvantaged areas to achieve their potential.

We know our students are capable of great things with the right support and encouragement - students from Airedale have gone on to Oxbridge, medical schools, business intern programmes, theatre school and even careers in blockbuster films. Like us, you will have high expectations and believe that disadvantage need not be a barrier to success; you will be passionate about encouraging students to develop our values of respect, ambition and bravery in daring to dream about what they could achieve.

In our most recent Ofsted inspection (September 2017), Airedale Academy was rated ‘Good’ in all areas, with the report noting that “teaching is effective” and “strong relationships between staff and students are based on mutual trust and respect.” As a new member of our team, you will build on these firm foundations as we continue to strive to achieve the very best for the community of pupils we serve.

Naturally, you should be a qualified (or soon to be qualified) teacher of mathematics with a proven record of delivering exceptional outcomes and developing in students a real enjoyment of maths. In return, we offer excellent conditions of employment (including in 2017 a 2% increase for all main pay scale teachers), significant investment in CPD and great benefits such as break-time refreshments, flu jabs, access to fitness facilities, exercise classes and even car valeting. We’re also a very friendly team!

This is a permanent post, subject to successful completion of a one-year probationary period.

Prospective applicants are warmly encouraged to visit the Academy before applying – we’re exceptionally proud of our school and its students, and love to show visitors around. Please call us to make an appointment. For an informal discussion regarding the post please contact Sandra Moore, Head of Maths, on 01977 664555. For further details and to apply visit www.airedaleacademy.com or email HRAAT@airedaleacademy.com for an application form.

Closing Date: 8am, 9th March 2018

Date of Interview: TBC

Northern Ambition Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
