New Forest Academy is situated in the South Waterside area of Hampshire and is adjacent to the New Forest National Park.  There are currently 500 students on roll. The academy is committed to making the very best of its academy status to significantly improve standards and the quality of teaching and learning.  Ofsted February 2016 graded Leadership & Management, personal development, behaviour and welfare as good.  G.C.S.E. results in 2016 place New Forest Academy above national performance in many areas. Our headlines currently show that 73% students achieved 5 or more good G.C.S.E. grades A*-C, with 61% achieving 5 A*-C including English and maths.

The maths team, comprised of 4 subject specialists, is focussed on promoting high quality teaching which has demonstrable impact on the quality of student learning and outcomes.  Teaching rooms are grouped together with adjacent IT resources.  Each room has its own SMART board and the team benefits from Academies Enterprise Trust Curriculum resources which place emphasis on: maths fluency; representation; probing questions and further extension tasks in order to develop mastery in students’ mathematical knowledge.

Maths outcomes are improving at a rapid rate under the leadership of a highly effective Head of Maths. You would be joining the team at an exciting time in its development.

We are looking for a candidate with a passion for teaching exceptional subject knowledge and a belief in every child achieving their personal best.
