Maths Teacher

Mahurangi College is looking for a collaborative Maths teacher, who is reflective in their practice.  A creative approach, as well as a desire to be challenge are valuable for this role.  You will be working with a Maths Department that covers years 9-13, and has 8 teaching staff.  Strong curriculum knowledge would be an advantage.

A strong emphasis on academic achievement is also desired.  Mahurangi College has prided itself on six years of improvements in NCEA results, and this is something that they want to continue to grow within the school.

The college has one of the largest and most diverse secondary school catchments in New Zealand.  The 1,456 students come from NZ European, Maori, Pasifika, and other backgrounds from the large community surrounding the school.  An appreciation for culture and diversity are greatly desired for this role.

Mahurangi College is located 45 minutes north of Auckland City.  Surrounded by beautiful beaches and vineyards, as well as the Dome Forest, the area offers a lot of outdoor activities for all types of interests.  These areas are utilised for the for several extra-curricular groups, including outdoor education.  However, there are other extra-curricular groups that you can get involved in, such as sports teams, performing arts, and cultural groups.

You may be eligible for a $5000 overseas relocation grant from the Ministry of Education if you take up a teaching position in New Zealand before the 1 July 2019. Now is a great time to come and teach in Aotearoa!
