Maths Teacher (SEND)

Are you an innovative, creative teacher driven to provide the best possible education for young people with special needs?

We are looking for a creative teacher with an interest in special needs education to join us at Garratt Park School.  

● We are a small school, so the ability to teach other subjects, particularly ICT, would also be an advantage

● You will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner who is able to teach students at different levels. Maths is currently taught to all students in KS3 and as options in KS4 and KS5. Students are accredited through GCSE, Level 1 Awards, Entry Level Certificates and Functional Skills

● You will need be able to adapt your teaching to meet the needs of students with a range of additional needs

● You might be from a secondary, primary or special needs background.  

● You may be an ECT or an experienced teacher looking for growth with additional responsibilities in either curriculum or pastoral areas.

We have a supportive body of staff and everyone is automatically a member of the Employee Benefit Scheme with a range of external support and discount offers. Furthermore, there is a potential for further Teaching & Learning responsibilities and appropriate training for the right candidate.

Garratt Park School is a special school for children and young people aged 11-19 who have moderate learning difficulties, along with other special needs disabilities including Autism, SCLN, sensory impairments and a small number with more complex needs. We are situated in the inner London borough of Wandsworth and most of our students come from the local area, from diverse backgrounds with around one third entitled to free school meals. Earlsfield is well served by public transport with easy access to the city centre.
