Job overview
If you really want to make a difference and improve the lives of some of young people, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
Unity School is seeking to appoint an inspiring and dedicated individual who has the ability to support the delivery of Maths from Entry Level Functional Skills up to GSCE Level. The candidate must be someone who has the ability to push the boundaries of Teaching and Learning and will also deliver other subjects with support across the curriculum. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives.
We are a small Independent Special School in City Centre, Stoke-on-Trent that provides an alternative approach to teaching young people (13-16) who may have social, emotional & mental health difficulties.
We are looking for someone who shares our energy, enthusiasm and commitment to improving outcomes for young people who have become disengaged with education.
NQTs or experienced Teachers welcome to apply. Graduates or those with other relevant qualifications (PTTLS/CTTLS/AET) will also be considered, with training provided for the right candidate.
We believe that no young person should be failed as a direct result of their past experiences and complex histories, and we are committed to helping them overcome adversity and provide a positive influence upon their current and future lives.
About Edison Young People
Although Unity School is its own school, it is part of Edison Young People, a dedicated education and care company working with some of the UK’s most vulnerable children. Being part of a group means you will have access to peer Headteachers, strong and supportive Governance and the ability to share resources.
Edison believes that no young person should fail as a result of their experience and complex histories. That is why we are dedicated to the care and education of the most vulnerable children and young people in our society who, through no fault of their own, are often unable to be accommodated anywhere else.
As a group, we are dedicated to continuous professional development and we pride ourselves on supporting colleagues to realise their professional goals, develop skills, knowledge and expertise, and support career development.
Joining Unity School
We benefit from a settled and supportive staff group and a fantastic cohort of young people.
As a member of Unity School family, you will be able to access a variety of benefits:
• High quality CPD, both internal and external
• Access to a group of professionals with a variety of specialisms
• Potential career progression
• Company pension.
Perhaps the most exciting reason to join us, however, is the potential to help grow and develop our fantastic school.
If you are excited by this opportunity and would like to discuss further, please contact Israel Amponsah, Headteacher at: israel@unitystoke.co.uk
Completed applications should also be sent to Israel Amponsah.
