About the Opportunity:

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Maths tutor to work with identified students to support them in achieving their full potential in Mathematics. It will involve working with students in small groups to support and maximise their progress in Mathematics, working alongside the Maths Team to plan and deliver lessons which support the work students are completing within their lessons.

The post will suit someone who has experience of delivering intervention strategies across the full ability range and is able to support the teaching of Mathematics to GCSE level.

We are looking for a tutor who can:

To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.

Plan, implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum in literacy for small groups of students.

Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides small groups of students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.

The successful candidate will have:

 A degree or higher level qualification in a relevant subject area

Experience with effective use of IT and new technologies to enhance teaching and learning

Previous experience of working with young adults/ children in an education setting

Good interpersonal skills with both adults and children

Have high expectations of students and deliver outstanding lessons and learning opportunities

An ability to work independently and be pro-active in all that you do.

The ability to prioritise own workload

The Ridgeway School & Sixth Form College has 1560 students, 200 of whom are in the Sixth Form. The Ridgeway School & Sixth Form College is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Wroughton.  

The school was established in 1967 and was the first purpose-built comprehensive school in Wiltshire. We offer GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for students, while sixth form students have the option of studying a range of A-levels and further BTECs.
