Chobham Academy opened in September 2013 after joining the highly successful group of Harris Academies. This 3-18 Academy is a world class educational legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Situated within the new East Village complex, the Academy serves the community to be established in 2,800 new homes, along with existing communities in Newham, Waltham Forest and nearby London Boroughs. Awarded 'Outstanding in all areas' by OfSTED in June 2015, we are very proud of our achievements and continue to strive to be better than outstanding.

We are looking for an inspiring, enthusiastic, and outstanding Media Studies Teacher, possibly Subject Lead for the right candidate, to join our Academy of committed staff who share a common sense of purpose and high expectations of what students can achieve.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to raise the achievement of all students
  • A passion for education and a flair for working with young people
  • A teacher who is resilient, highly driven and self motivated, who will go the extra mile to ensure that students achieve beyond their own expectations.

The successful candidate will:

  • Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students across KS3, KS4, and KS5
  • Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
  • Provide a motivating and structured learning experience, which will provide students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • Contribute significantly to raising standards of students attainment as a teacher and form tutor.
