The school is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Medical and Welfare Leader.

Downshall Primary serves a vibrant multicultural community situated within easy reach of excellent transport links to central London. At the last OFSTED inspection it was graded “good” and the school is in the top 20% of schools nationally for pupil progress. This is an exciting time to join the staff at Downshall Primary School.

Duties will include:

  • Administering Medical Care
    • Leading and overseeing the medical and welfare needs of our pupils;
    • Liaising with parents and staff on pupil medical issues;
    • Record keeping;
    • Maintaining Care Plans and Protocols where necessary;
    • Arranging visits with the Local Authority School Nurse;
  • General Office Administration
    • Reception duties from 3.30 – 5.00pm;
    • Educational Visits Coordinator ;
    • Ordering of stock and associated record keeping;
    • Typing;
    • Organising and preparing meeting venues ;
    • Minute taking;
    • Photocopying.

A First Aid qualification and/or nursing/medical experience would be an advantage.

Initially the post will be offered on a fixed term contract until July 2017, subject to annual review.
