Job overview

Medical Centre Manager

Wycliffe College seeks a flexible and dynamic, qualified nurse to be our new Medical Centre Manager. If you enjoy working with young people aged from 3 to 18, with the support of dedicated and caring colleagues, then we’d love to hear from you.

Our Medical Centre is at the heart of the excellent pastoral care we aim to provide for both day and boarding pupils. Working across both our Prep and Senior school sites, you and your team will offer medical care to pupils along with advice to our well-trained teaching and support staff. You will line manage the Medical Centre team and be responsible for the day to day delivery and development of medical provision at the College. We have close links with our local GP practice and wider healthcare services. You will work closely with the Deputy Head Pastoral and the Housemistresses/masters to provide ‘home from home’ care for our boarding community.

You will be NMC registered with at least 4 years post qualification experience and ideally you will have worked in a setting with children/young people. You will have experience managing nursing staff or other health care professionals and feel confident in supervising and guiding professional practice. You will approach your role with a ‘can do’ attitude and enjoy the variety the job will present you with from day to day.

The post is full-time, term-time only (35 weeks plus 6 additional days per academic year). Working hours are Monday to Friday (7.45am-4.45pm or 10.00am-7pm), with an on-call rotation one in three Sundays during term time (around 10 per annum).

In addition to a competitive salary, other benefits include:

  • contributory pension scheme
  • reduced school fees
  • cycle to work scheme
  • free meals during school term-time
  • free use of gym, sports facilities and swimming pool (during set times)
  • training and development opportunities
  • free on-site parking
  • subsidised coffee-shop.

Closing date for applications: 12 noon on 5th August 2020

Interview date: During week commencing 10th August 2020

Please see the job description for further details of the role.

Wycliffe is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all who work at the School to share this commitment. All successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
