  • Vision for Education is looking to appoint a Mental Health Support Worker to join our successful supply team and work in a local Alternative setting in Kirklees. This is a fixed term Mental Health Support Worker role, which will commence in September on a full-time basis. Vision for Education will conduct interviews and trial days.

The role

Working as part of a dynamic and creative Support team, the Mental Health Support Worker will focus on the specific young learner, whilst also providing general classroom support for a small class of vulnerable children when needed.

The school

This Specialist setting is looking for a committed and successful Mental Health Support Worker to join their motivated team. The school cater specifically for Social Emotional and Mental Health students who have Educational Care Plans and are no longer in mainstream education.  Students range from the age of 9 – 19 and do display some challenging behaviours, you must be able to adapt well to situations and de-escalate them well. Team teach training would be beneficial however not essential as we can offer this training free of charge. The local community is highly supportive of the school and parental involvement is very positive. 

Requirements

To be considered for the Mental Health Support Worker position, you will:

Have experience of working with vulnerable young learners with similar needs.

Be experienced in working with smaller nurture groups to boost attainment.

Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.

Hold a team teach qualification or be willing to attend training.
