Just Teach! It sounds simple, but not everyone can do it. East London Science School is an intellectually ambitious and oversubscribed school which is seeking an inspirational MFL teacher to help build our pupils’ growing subject knowledge and desire to know more.
We are looking for a talented German Teacher who has a belief in the ability of all students to succeed. You will need to match your love of modern languages with discipline and flexibility and have the same, if not higher, expectations of your pupils. We design our own curriculum and make sure each lesson has a specific grammatical point and that new vocabulary items are drilled and learned within the lesson.
We ensure our pupils master grammatical terminology by the end of HT1 in Y7 and that they are exposed to 4 tenses by the end of Y7 but we also want them to acquire cultural competence, in order to fully grasp a foreign language. This means we prefer teaching members of the family and possessive adjectives via The Hohenstaufen rather than the usual Simpsons and deliver a lesson on Metropolis by Lang, when teaching Free time.
Your hard work will set the standards for that of the pupils. As such, we are looking for a teacher who can demand the highest standards of academic focus and scholarly behaviour.
