Job overview

Brighton College Abu Dhabi is a leading Independent-style British International School in the United Arab Emirates. With a prime location on Abu Dhabi Island and a purpose built state of the art campus, which is nearing its fifth anniversary, the school is heavily over-subscribed.

In August 2015, the school achieved the best GCSE results of any school in the Emirate with 52% of all GCSE grades at A or A*. This summer sees our first ever Year 13 cohort graduate from the school with pupils already having secured places at the leading universities of the world. The school is a vibrant, busy and fulfilling place to work, but one where every teacher is expected to 'give their all'. All staff are expected to take an active part in their own professional development with exceptional levels of financial support for CPD provided by the school and many opportunities for promotion, either within the school or within the growing Brighton family of schools.

Our positioning as a leading school in the region and our GCSE results this summer are testament to the dedication and hard work of our common room. Packages are amongst the best globally with an excellent basic salary and a strong benefits package.

The Senior School is located on the middle and top floor of the main building and teaches over 400 pupils aged 14-18 (Years 9-13). Pupils follow a common programme in Year 9 in preparation for GCSEs. Pupils in Years 10 and 11 typically study 10 GCSEs. In Years 12-13 pupils typically study 3 or 4 A Levels.  All Senior School teachers are expected to teach A level in their subject area. The ideal candidate must be able to teach at least two European Languages to GCSE. Recent experience of teaching at least one language to A level is desirable.

To apply for this position please follow the instructions that  can be found at www.brightoncollege.ae, under Teaching Vacancies.

Closing date for applications is Thursday, February 18th, 2016, however we may conduct interviews and offer a position sooner. Candidates are advised to apply as soon as possible.
