Due to continued growth and success, Cheadle Hulme Primary School is looking to appoint a friendly Midday Assistant to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Laurus Trust family, and to play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the Trust. Support staff work tirelessly to ensure all services run smoothly and efficiently, enabling our teaching staff to focus on delivering an outstanding education for our students.

Main Responsibilities  

  • Provide supervision of pupils during the lunchtime period both in the dining area and during playground activities.  
  • Ensure the safety of pupils during the lunchtime period.  
  • Arrange age-appropriate activities for pupils and support classroom cover during these times.  
  • Carry out visual check on school equipment e.g. tables chairs, reporting any faults for rectification.  
  • Patrol the school grounds during the lunch period ensuring that Middays are spaced appropriately around the play areas to monitor play and behaviour.  
  • Clear and clean lunch tables at the end of service and working with team to put away table and chairs, clearing the hall floor and other general cleaning duties.  
  • Liaise with school First Aider should any incidents occur during lunch hours.

Key Skills & Experience

• Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent

• Experience working in a school environment would be advantageous

• Ideally possess prior experience within a similar role

• Ability to work with children in a calm manner whilst organising appropriate play activities in and out of doors

• A First Aid Qualification would be beneficial

Cheadle Hulme Primary School first opened in September 2018 and has been going from strength to strength ever since!

We are part of the Laurus Trust, a family of schools with a vision “for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, to be inspired, to thrive in all environments, to recognise what it takes to succeed, to set aspirational goals and to work hard to achieve them.”

Cheadle Hulme Primary School is a hugely oversubscribed, non-selective, non-denominational, two form entry primary school with two classes in each year as well as a pre-school. We are co-located with our sister secondary, Laurus Cheadle Hulme High School.

In our very first Ofsted inspection in January 2023, Cheadle Hulme Primary School was judged Outstanding for the Personal Development of pupils and Early Years and Good overall.
