Harris Primary Academy Mayflower is a thriving, diverse and friendly three-form entry academy that launched in September 2014 and is funded through the free school programme. We serve the communities of Chafford Hundred and West Thurrock. We moved to a temporary building on our new site in September 2015 and our brand new building, capable of accommodating five forms of entry, was completed in September 2016.
We are looking to appoint a friendly and energetic midday meal supervisor to join our vibrant and diverse team. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed professional looking to start, or continue their career in an exciting new role.
The successful applicant will:
- Undertake direct supervision of pupils in designated areas.
- Supervise conduct of pupils, ensuring safe and orderly conduct within and outside the premises.
- Deal with minor incidents and where appropriate, refer serious incidents to the Pastoral Assistant/Senior Staff.
- Clean up spillages or debris around the dining/play areas to ensure the maintenance of good order, discipline and safety.

Salary: Grade 1b (£4,673 - £4,702)
Pro rata: 12.5 hours per week , 39 weeks per year
11.00am to 1.30pm or 11.30am to 2.00pm

School summary
Harris Primary Academy Mayflower opened in September 2014 in order to meet the significant need locally for new places. It started with a Reception cohort and will grow by a year group at a time. Our brand new building, opened in September 2016, is an inspiring place in which to teach and learn.
It is a sister school to Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred and Harris Academy Chafford Hundred, along with the other Academies in the Harris Federation.
Academy Ethos
Our aim is to make sure that, from the first day of their education, our pupils have a truly happy experience of school. This means teaching them to become confident learners and nurturing each child’s personality and character.
Whatever a child’s background or starting point, we want to make sure that they finish Year 6 with the academic skills, social skills and knowledge necessary to succeed. Every lesson at our school is creative and there is plenty of time for children to think, to play, to discover and wonder.
Each child is taught in the way that suits them best and we step in quickly if a change is needed. For some children, this might involve one-to-one support if they are finding something difficult and for others it could mean stretching them more to keep them interested.
Our school is relaxed and comfortable but pupils know that good behaviour is expected of them and are taught to respect each other and their teachers. They are frequently praised and rewarded for trying their best and for being kind, hard-working and well-behaved.
Our school is friendly and welcoming and we always make sure that every pupil has at least one friend.
