Position: Middle School IB Design & Technology teacher

Contract term: 1 year initially with the possibility of extending

Applicants are invited to apply for the position of Middle School Teacher of Design & Technology at The International School of Palermo, Sicily. The position offers an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified applicant to join the school at this key developmental stage of an ever expanding secondary school.

The suitable candidate should be creative, engaging and diverse in their approach, as this position would require the candidate to fully engage in the role of developing, writing and planning curriculum. This position offers the candidate with both an exciting opportunity to use their experience and expertise to set up and develop the design & technology department. Candidates should be passionate about their field and have the ability to nurture both students’ skills to their full potential.

The candidate should be a team player and integregrate fully in the wider school staff and be eager to engage in projects throughout the school. Also the candidate should be able to add to the school through extra curricular activities and participate fully in school events.

The ideal candidate should hold a suitably relevant qualification in this specific field and a teaching qualification, ideally having recent relevant experience. Previous MYP, IBDP or PYP experience would be favourable although not essential. As ICT will play an important role in this position candidates should have the ability to liaise with the school technician on a regular basis and work in this field throughout the school.

• suitable degree/teaching qualification
• fully IT literate
• ability to work in a team and contribute to the wider school community
