Outdoor Education Instructor


Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a committed, enthusiastic and motivated Outdoor Education Instructor on behalf of a specialist provision in the Middlesbrough area to work with KS2- KS4 students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.


This is a full-time role which is due to commence as soon as possible so having a DBS on the online update service would be beneficial. This role does have the potential to lead to a permanent post for the right person.


The specialist provision is looking to appoint someone who can:


Support the delivery of the curriculum and coordinate the Outdoor Education and learning outside of the classroom

Develop within the Academy a structured outdoor activities programme with appropriate challenge and progression, to include all members of the Academy

Organise transport arrangements for all trips and activities

Manage the Outdoor Education budget for both programme activities and equipment

Develop resources for programme activities where necessary in consultation with teaching staff

Provide leadership and vision in developing the programme

Take responsibility for Health and Safety of activities and equipment in compliance with relevant legislation

Take responsibility as the Academy Education Visits Coordinator using the EVOLVE system

The ideal applicant will have the following attributes:


Previous experience in working with young people who have challenging behaviour

Be Team Teach trained

A calm, patient and nurturing personality.

The ability to build rapport with young people

Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle

Be available 5 days a week, Monday to Friday
