The Team

The MIS & Exams team is responsible for accurate, reliable and timely student management information, and it aims to provide a high quality, customer-focussed, professional service which enhances the student journey from enrolment to achievement whilst adhering to strict funding body and examination regulations. 

The Role

The postholder will be required to co-ordinate, administer and understand the MIS & Exams function, ensuring compliance with statutory procedures, current funding methodology, College policy and departmental guidelines. MIS & Exams Co-ordinators are primary contacts for allocated curriculum areas and are responsible for all administrative and compliance elements of timetabling, course set-ups, enrolments, qualification registrations, examinations and certification claims. This role is key to developing and optimising the use of our student management information systems.


The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

  • A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant numerate, technical or scientific discipline
  • A good all-round education which includes Maths and English to GCSE (Grade A*-C) or equivalent level. 
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and advise on the implications of data.
  • Experience of working in a busy customer-facing environment and have excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to work effectively with staff at all levels.

Northampton College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college situated in Northamptonshire. It is a 16-plus institution with three campuses: a major building at its main Northampton site, a smaller campus near the town centre and another 20 miles away in Daventry. It provides places for around 9,000 students aged 16 and over, most of whom are full-time and aged 16-18.

Northampton College was opened in 1973. It merged with Daventry Tertiary College to expand its Daventry campus in August 2004, and its Booth Lane campus reopened after a large redevelopment in 2012.
