Are you a skilled individual with considerable knowledge and experience of the Motor Vehicle industry? We're looking for a Motor Vehicle Performance Coach to join us at Southport College on a part-time basis.

The role

As a Performance Coach, you'll be responsible for recruiting, training and assessing Motor Vehicle apprenticeship candidates. This is a varied role that will involve:

  • Planning, preparing and delivering training in specialist areas
  • Conducting initial and continuous Health and Safety assessments in the workplace
  • Enrolling, inducting, reviewing and tracking learners
  • Assessing students in vocational areas, testing their knowledge and skills
  • Liaising with Assessors, Trainers, Mentors, and employers to build networks and relay key information

About you

You'll possess a Level 3 qualification in a relevant vocational area, assessor awards (CAVA or equivalent), as well as a CIEH Level 3 Risk Assessment Principles and Practice qualification, or a willingness to work towards obtaining one. You'll also need relevant industry experience in the curriculum area and will have experience of assessing candidates in the workplace.

As you'll be assessing students either in the workplace or College, you'll need to hold a clean driving licence and have access to a car.

Southport College is a well established independent Further Education college providing a diverse programme of education and training to a variety of learners across the North West.

Working closely with schools across Sefton and West Lancashire, Southport College offers a School Links programme for over 250 14-16 year olds who combine studying vocational courses at Southport College alongside their GCSEs in school. Southport College is the area’s largest provider of vocational courses, with nearly 2000 full-time 16-19 year-olds studying a range of qualifications including BTECs, NVQs, CACHE awards, City & Guilds qualifications and the exciting new Advanced Diplomas, in a wide range of subjects from Hair & Beauty Studies or Forensic Science to Childcare or Games Design & Animation.

Southport College provides a range of part-time and full-time courses to over 3000 adult learners, many of them supported by their employers on courses delivered in the workplace through our Employer Services team.
