An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced individual to join the Learning Development team in Grantham. This role will complement the existing network of travel trainers that operate elsewhere in the country. The roles key responsibilities will be to take responsibility for the direct one to one training of young people and adults (16-25) with special or additional needs and to develop the skills and confidence needed to enable them to travel safely and independently on public transport, or by walking, cycling or other appropriate methods to engage in work experience, training or employment. To liaise closely with tutors, employers, parents, carers and transport providers to ensure training is delivered in accordance with an individual’s needs, statement or care plan. To provide a range of support to all learners to ensure that they are retained and achieve their qualification.

Successful applicants will be well educated and have experience of working with young people (16 – 25) gained in an educational, youth work or residential setting. This role would also suit a graduate who has spent some time in this field, possibly voluntarily, or equally someone who may not be graduate qualified but has substantial relevant experience. You must have excellent geographical knowledge of the country and be fully conversant with confidentially. The ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and be a confident trainer.
