Job overview

Music and Drama Technician  Start date: 1st September 2018

36 hours per week, Monday - Friday          Salary £7.00 per hour

We are seeking to appoint a Music and Drama Technician, to support the staff in the Performing Arts department, in our thriving and outstanding Secondary School, based in New Malden, Surrey.

The successful candidate will have a great enthusiasm for both music and drama, and ideally be educated to A’Level standard in one or both subjects. The ability to competently play the piano is an advantage, but not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is completing their A-Levels and pursuing a gap year with the intention of going on to university to study towards a Music or Drama degree and, even more fittingly, to eventually go into classroom teaching, working with theatre groups or being a peripatetic teacher.

The successful candidate will be expected to work Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week, plus occasional evenings/weekends, to assist with rehearsals and performances.

Full details of the school and this vacancy can be found on the school website

Ofsted

“Pupils thoroughly enjoy school and grow in confidence, becoming increasingly reflective about their own learning. They are very well prepared for life beyond school and, by the time they leave, they have extremely strong academic and personal skills. They build very positive relationships with each other, and support new, or more vulnerable, peers exceptionally well”.
