Job overview

Ratcliffe School and Oaklands Park School form the Dawlish Federation of Special Schools. From September 2018 our two schools will merge to form one weekly residential special school, Orchard Manor School. The two schools on adjoining sites are set in the coastal town of Dawlish in the very beautiful South Devon. Our newly merged weekly residential special school will provide an all-through provision for children and young people aged 3 - 19 years with a continuum of needs including autistic spectrum conditions, communication and interaction difficulties, learning difficulties and social development needs.

Our standards in both education and care are very high and we offer a structured and supportive environment to all our students and staff.

We are seeking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner for September 2018 or before. The successful applicant will be highly ambitious for students whatever their needs or ability. You will be required to teach Music across the age range up to and including GCSE. The ideal candidate should be able to offer a range of musical skills including the use of music software. There may be the opportunity to offer extracurricular sessions such as clubs and choirs. The ability of offer some Drama sessions would be advantageous.
