Music College Coordinator – to start as soon as possible 

Salary: Grade 6, scale points 18 - 20 (£27,369pa - £28,356pa)

35 hours/week, 52 weeks/year* Plus 1 hour per day accrued time

The Twyford Specialist Music College offers extra-curricular music to a wide range of students within the school and in other schools as part of our outreach programme.  

This exciting position as arisen from recent restructure, with the main purposes being:

• the coordination of the Twyford Music College instrumental tuition and exams

• the extra-curricular programme 

• musical events

• promoting the Music College profile.

We are looking to recruit a motivated individual who will build strong professional relationships with all stakeholders. 

S/he will timetable and coordinate a team of 20 peripatetic tutors, on behalf of the Director of the Music Specialism, and have excellent communication skills to ensure that staff, pupils and parents are provided with a first-rate service.

You will be confident in implementing changes, to ensure that the Music College remains efficient and effective, as well as having superb time management skills to forward plan Music Events with the team. 

Excellent attendance and punctuality is essential, as is commitment and a willingness to play an active role in the life of the school.  

S/he will join an enthusiastic administrative team and will share some general responsibilities and tasks to meet the needs of the Wider School.  

Hours of work are 8:00am – 4:30pm, which includes 1 additional hour to be worked each day from 3:30 – 4:30pm.  These additional hours will be accrued and taken as time in lieu during school holidays or other closures when the office is less busy, with the expectation that staff are available to return to work from A Level Results Day onward.

Successful Candidates will have:  

• GCSE passes in English and Maths, or equivalent, and an excellent standard of written English

The Twyford Trust 

The Twyford Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community.  The Twyford Trust aims to deliver outstanding education in a comprehensive school setting, and embraces the Twyford School motto ‘Life in all its fullness’, encouraging students to use their individual gifts wisely and well.  Supported by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS), the Trust is the overarching organisation which provides support for all Trust schools.  The Trust comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing. 

Twyford CE High School, Acton 

Twyford CE High School was set up by the LDBS in 1981.  The school has an excellent reputation and is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted (May 2012) and SIAMS (April 2017).  It has developed specialisms in 

Music and Modern Foreign Languages, as well as a large and highly successful Sixth Form in which Maths, Maths and Computing are the largest areas.  Since its inception the school has grown considerably and now admits around 975 students aged 11 to 16, and an additional 500 students to the Sixth Form.

The Twyford Church of England Academies Trust (TCEAT) is a compact CoE MAT which comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community.
