An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified, talented and enthusiastic teacher of Music to join our highly successful School from September 2019 on a part-time, permanent contract.
Music at Babington House thrives as an academic subject, as an extra-curricular activity and an integral part of the school's assemblies and church services. Pupils are offered the opportunity to take part in ensemble performance as well as solo performance, including frequent informal and formal concerts throughout the school year. Our senior choirs are much celebrated, previously winning prizes at the Bromley Festival and Beckenham Festival.
We are looking for a motivated individual with absolute commitment to raising standards of achievement for our students. You will also need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships within Music and the School as a whole.
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is able to teach Music to pupils across KS2, KS3 and KS4. The new Teacher of Music will be expected to bring a dynamic and creative teaching style to the department and contribute to the department’s extra-curricular offering. The post would suit a newly qualified teacher or a teacher with experience looking for a new setting.

Babington House School is an independent day school from 3 to 18 years, situated in a beautiful group of buildings on Grange Drive in Chislehurst, near Bromley (3 minutes’ walk from Elmstead Woods Station).
It is a co-educational School from 3 to 18 years. It currently has just over 430 pupils with no more than 20 children in a class.
This is an exciting time for Babington House School with growing pupil numbers. This growth is providing opportunities for new staff to join this friendly and supportive team, working with delightful children in small classes in a highly successful and progressive school.

Teachers inspire pupils from the Sixth Form right down to the Nursery and achieve excellent results. Over the past three years, A-Level pupils have achieved 80% A* to B grades and Babington’s Early Years provision has been top of the Bromley Borough league tables.
The Senior School is academically selective with an Entrance Examination for Year 7 entry. In the Sixth Form, the focus very much on A-level study in small sets whilst at the same time providing the opportunity for work experience, something that will help their university applications stand out and provide great self-confidence.
