Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers / persons for the following position:

Part Time Temporary - Music Teacher - 2020 School Year

Role Expectations:

  • Must be able to do classroom music and choirs
  • Band or instrumental group experience would be considered
  • Must have evidence of success with choirs
  • Ideally a practising Catholic who would be willing to play and lead singing at school Masses
  • Organ/Keyboard expertise would be an advantage.  May also have drama

The successful candidate will be a highly professional, growth-oriented practitioner with a demonstrated ability to:

  • Plan and implement effective teaching and learning units across all KLAs using the NSW Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum
  • Contribute to the collaborative culture of the school as a Professional Learning Community
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students and parents
  • Actively seek professional learning opportunities
  • Use data to inform practice
  • Assess and provide feedback on student learning
  • Implement positive and supportive behaviour management practices
  • Support students with additional needs
  • Lead initiatives beyond their own class and grade group
  • Mentor and support colleagues
  • Use technology effectively and creatively to support student learning
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Must have full registration with NESA (with a minimum provisional or conditional accreditation status)

Ideally applicants will be a committed practising Catholics who will support the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church’s work in our school.

About St Anthony’s Primary School KINGSCLIFF

St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School is a mixed, independent, Roman Catholic primary school in Kingscliff, New South Wales. It has approximately 350 students enrolled and caters for pupils from kindergarten to Year 6.

St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School was founded in 1968 by Father E. Leonard and the Presentation Sisters. St Anthony of Padua is the school’s patron saint. The school is registered by the Board of Studies, while Teaching and Educational Standards are managed by the Lismore Catholic School Office.

Facilities include a computer lab and library. 

Curriculum

The curriculum is taught in accordance with the Board of Studies and Teaching and Educational Standards syllabuses for primary education. Core subjects are emphasised including English, maths, science and technology, human society and its environment, creative arts and personal development and P.E. Sports, drama and music play an important part in their extra-curricular activities.
