Job overview

Contract type : Full Time
Contract term : Permanent (with initial 11 month probation)

Description

St George Madrid is a fast growing, but young school within the St George´s group and is located in a prime educational zone to the North of the capital. The school will be merging its secondary and primary campuses onto a single site this summer, with new purpose built facilities for the secondary school. The school has seen significant growth in recent years, with potential for more.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and enthusiastic primary practitioner with experience of teaching music across the primary phase. An ability to offer a second subject would be an advantage, as would a willingness to offer a limited amount of music to our secondary school classes. A commitment to educating the whole child, emphasis on high levels of pastoral care and an inclusive approach to education will be of the utmost importance as we make the final appointment. As our students come to us from a range of different backgrounds and with varying needs, an interest in raising attainment across all ability levels is very important. Candidates will also need to demonstrate evidence of being a strong team player as well as the ability to adapt quickly to new situations, with a flexible approach to problem solving. With the merging of the two sections of the school on a single campus, there will undoubtedly be challenges in the initial set-up phase. We follow an adapted English National Curriculum across the primary and secondary schools.

If you are committed to child centred education, with a deep rooted desire to help every child reach their potential and are interested in helping shape the future development of an international school we would be delighted to hear from you.

Interviews

Initial interviews will be held by Skype on a rolling basis with a face-to-face meeting for the successful candidate. Face-to-face interviews will take place in Madrid and London during the week beginning Monday 15th May.

How to Apply

Interested candidates are invited to send in a letter of application outlining their educational philosophy and reasons for applying to St George´s Madrid together with a comprehensive CV, a recent passport-size photograph and contact details of three referees (one of which must be from your current school) to:  admin.madrid@stgeorge.es

The closing date for applications is Friday 12th May, although we will be reviewing applications as they arrive and reserve the right to make an early appointment for the right candidate.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students in our care and expects all applicants to share this commitment. We follow safe recruitment practice and appointments are subject to an interview, satisfactory references and criminal record checks.
