We wish to appoint an exceptional teacher of music to support the development and improvement of the subject within Yewlands Academy. It goes without saying that we will support you, develop you and above all welcome you into our ambitious team and rapidly improving Academy.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Will develop the music curriculum at KS3 and KS4
  • Is committed to raising the profile of music and increase uptake at KS4
  • Possess an excellent level of musical ability (theory and practical)
  • Is a talented professional who wants to provide every student with a great education and real
  • choices in life, regardless of their background
  • Is committed to raising and maintaining outcomes in music
  • Will actively engage in the development of the extra-curricular programme within performing arts
  • Is enthusiastic and has passion for the music curriculum and the potential of every student
  • Has vision, drive and flair as you join our supportive and forward-thinking staff team
  • Has a genuine commitment to making a positive contribution to Yewlands Academy and its community

The role will focus upon:

1. The quality of teaching and learning

2. Assessment and monitoring of performance

3. The development of the curriculum at Key Stage 3 & 4 and transition

4. Capturing and sharing best practice with colleagues

The secondary academies within Brigantia Learning Trust are over subscribed and demand for places is high. As a growing local Academy Trust we regularly advertise for both teaching and support staff and are proud of the opportunities and career progression we are able to offer our staff.

Part of the Brigantia Learning Trust, Yewlands Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational 11-16 secondary school based in Grenoside, Sheffield. Yewlands provides a creative, broad, experiential and ambitious curriculum for 900 secondary students.
