Job overview

We seek to appoint two music teachers to a newly formed music team for the collegiate, led by a Director of Music. The team will offer excellence and enjoyment  for all students aged 4-18, from Reception to A level.  These posts will build on the existing strong provision, further develop the specialist music curriculum in the two outstanding primary schools and work closely with secondary colleagues on  the transition of music from the primary to the secondary phase.

You will be an accomplished instrumentalist, currently teaching in an independent prep school, an LA maintained school or MAT as a classroom teacher with music as an element of your role or as a specialist music teacher. You must be a natural collaborator, however good your solo skills, focused on growing music as a part of every student’s life as well as a proud tradition across the collegiate. We particularly welcome applications from choral and opera enthusiasts.

The collegiate comprises two Ofsted outstanding primary schools with 5 forms of entry between them and a more recently joined’ good’ secondary school which seeks to be the natural choice for GST year 6 pupils. Exceptional extra curricular provision is well established in the primary schools and developing at Lammas.

Music is central to the life of both primary schools with students taking part in regular whole school singing assemblies and recitals. We offer free instrumental tuition to all as part of our commitment to providing a high quality music education.

This new team offers the unusual opportunity to work with some 1700 students across all key stages and to build the foundations of something unique. Wider work across the trust will also be encouraged.
