JFK School in Saanen is an independent school for students aged 4 – 14, located in a beautiful alpine environment in Switzerland.  It is “small school with a big heart”, where personal attention to individual needs is given on a daily basis to its boarding and day students.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational Mathematics teacher to teach the upper primary and middle school age range, and who is capable of leading the school towards the IB Middle Years Programme.

As well as being an excellent team player able to forge positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues, the ideal candidate will also be excited by the challenge of leading our middle school into and through the candidacy period of the MYP. We are therefore looking for candidates with:

  • strong leadership skills and recent middle level leadership experience.
  • recent experience of coordinating and/or teaching MYP Mathematics.

The person appointed will have an important teaching role.  They will have high expectations of their students and be able to inspire curiosity and creativity, building pupils’ confidence in an energetic and dynamic classroom environment, using ICT in an effective and appropriate manner.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree in Mathematics
  • Teaching qualification with at least 3 years’ teaching experience
  • Native English speaker
  • A sound understanding of “primary level” mathematics and the “building blocks” that all students require in order to access higher level mathematics
  • Willingness to play an active role in the extended life of the school.

It would also be an advantage to have some experience in teaching Physical Education.

John F. Kennedy International School is a co-educational English-language boarding and day school for children ages 2.5 to 14, culminating in the Year 9 (Grade 8). The growing student body is made up of around 100 students from over twenty different countries.
