We are currently looking for an exceptional MYP/DP Business and Economics Teacher from August 2022.

Classroom teaching responsibilities (80%) 

  • Establishing classroom environments that are creative, focused, engaging and which embody IB philosophy and the mission statement of the school. 
  • Use flexible teaching methodologies that engage students with diverse learning styles.         
  • Lead by example, demonstrate the IB learner profile in action and guide students towards becoming open-minded, compassionate, thoughtful learners with a global perspective.       
  • Assess and respond to student abilities and progress, adapting their approach with different teaching styles. 
  • Undertake lesson preparation, set/mark examinations, write student reports, and develop assessments aligned to the IB requirements and the school calendar. 
  • Effective use of the learning management system. 
  • Set and mark students’ work accurately and promptly, giving guidance and work according to their needs, supporting their development and progression. 
  • Provide regular and ongoing feedback to students and parents. 
  • Support the personal development and wellbeing of students and where welfare concerns are identified, seek support from the School Counsellor and Programme Heads.


Team responsibilities (15%) 

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, unit planning, assessment development and improvement programs. 
  • Openly exchange ideas, expertise, resources and tools with colleagues and within the subject areas to improve teaching within the school. 
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the appropriate curricula and current teaching trends, digital tools and developments.

 

School-wide responsibilities (5%) 

  • Be a Homeroom teacher. 
  • Foster and promote a sense of pride and positive community spirit among staff and students. 
  • Undertake cover lessons as directed. 
  • Assist with marking and evaluating entrance exams. 
  • Compulsory attendance at meetings both during and outside of school hours including:  school meetings, staff meetings, subject area meetings, interdisciplinary meetings, homeroom activities & other meetings which are required by the school. 
  • Complete supervision duties according to the calendar (possible duties include lunch supervision, drop-off or departure duty, uniform checks, bus supervision, break supervision).


Qualifications 

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree and teacher qualification (eg: Business, Economics, Business Education, or another related field from an accredited, state-approved programme). 
  • Right to work in Italy (EU passport or valid Italian work VISA). 
  • Immaculate police check(s).


Contract Duration

Fixed-term full time, with the possibility for extension.


Experience      

  • A minimum of three years of recent and relevant experience in a comparable school environment.      
  • Relevant teaching experience within subject area(s), preferably in an IB school.      
  • IB examiners will have priority.
  • Specialist skills & knowledge.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver innovative inquiry-based lessons that engage students and address their diverse learning needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to use digital tools and resources effectively to enhance learning.      
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Fluent level of English (at least C1): reading, speaking, writing (Common European Framework of Reference - CEFR).

About H-FARM International School Venezia

H-FARM International School Venezia is the “founder” of the H-FARM International schools; it is the beginning of our story.

The campus is located in the heart of the Sile River natural park in an area known as Ca’ Tron, one of the largest single agricultural estates in Italy, which borders the Venetian lagoon.

It is in a strategic position in Italy’s northeast region and is just 12km from Venice’s Marco Polo airport, 20km from Treviso, and 50km from Padova.

The school is an IB World School and provides the three IB continuum programmes (PYP, MYP, and DP), providing education to students from 3 to 18 years old.

In September 2020, H-FARM International School Venezia moved to the H-FARM Campus; a place where students, young startuppers, teachers, entrepreneurs, managers, and College students collaborate together in the digital transformation process.
