Our highly-successful network of 34 schools educates over 20,000 students across Hastings, Birmingham, London and Portsmouth. They are achieving some of the best results in the country despite being largely in areas of historic academic underachievement.

We know that great schools need great senior leaders, which is why are always keen to hear from people who share our belief that an excellent education is central to transforming lives.

We are now seeking to recruit a Network Vice Principal (Birmingham) – a really important new role for the region. Our Network Vice Principals need to be flexible as they will be deployed across the entire Birmingham region and will have the opportunity to work with senior leadership teams in schools across the network at various stages of their school improvement journey.

You’ll be clearly aligned with Ark’s ethos of growth mind set and you’ll have the highest aspirations and expectations of yourself and others and will be open and eager to learn. You’ll bring an infectious passion about teaching and its impact on learning and will do whatever it takes to ensure that learning stretches, inspires and challenges every pupil to fulfil their true potential.

This is a challenging role, but a hugely rewarding one. Our Network Vice Principal (Birmingham) will work closely with Ark Principals across Birmingham and will be instrumental in transforming standards, so it is essential that you have an impressive track record of continuously improving outcomes in complex environments, coupled with bags of tenacity, creativity and resilience. The Network Vice Principal will receive unrivalled professional development – based at Ark St Alban’s you will receive training at an outstanding school, alongside extraordinary leaders plus your additional responsibilities across Ark’s Birmingham schools means you have training opportunities across the entire region. You’ll also have the continuous support of one of the highest performing academy operators in the country - who will challenge you to develop your leadership capacity through personalised career support.
