ACS International Schools are recruiting a Newly Qualified Science Teacher to join our Cobham campus. We are recruiting a Newly Qualified Science Teacher to positively impact student learning outcomes and inspire lifelong learning.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • A core member of a Teaching Residency Team (T-Res), a tightly collaborative team of two Resident Teachers/Teacher Lead
  • In addition to own classes/sections: co-teaches, co-plans, supports, and observes in all Resident Teaching Team classes
  • Undertakes set Professional Learning for continuous professional growth in current best practices in teaching and learning (must engage in our micro credentialing programme annually)
  • Teaches effectively to improve student achievement, demonstrating high levels of understanding and skilled application of accepted teaching standards
  • Managing learner development and learning environments
  • Using pedagogical content knowledge, and teaching students how to apply their understanding to the world beyond the classroom
  • Implementing world class practices in assessment, planning (including curriculum design) and instructional strategy
  • Exercising responsibility in professional development, ethics and collaboration
  • Implements research-informed teaching behaviours that utilise learning sciences
  • Consistently differentiate for learning differences
  • Create and sustain culturally responsive classrooms
  • Motivate students to set and achieve challenging goals
  • Lead to demonstrated learning results
  • Keeps timely and complete records, and reports student progress as required
  • Supports school operations and learning beyond the classroom by supervising activities, leading extracurricular programmes and service, chaperoning educational visits, amongst other things
  • Engages with educational and community organisations within and external to ACS
  • Partners with parents to support students’ social and emotional development
  • Champions students’ and colleagues’ health, safety and wellbeing
  • Maintains academic integrity
  • Ensures our values are embedded into everyday practice

About ACS Cobham International School

ACS Cobham International School is a mixed, mainstream, all-through school with sixth form, for students aged 2-18. This independent school is located in Cobham, Surrey, and has approximately 1300 students enrolled.

ACS Cobham International School was founded in 1975 and is one of four ACS schools in England and Qatar. Boarding was added in 1988 and the school generally caters for expatriate families who have relocated to the UK. It boasts a purpose-built dining room, a separate theatre complex with performing arts facilities, and a gymnasium.
