This role could be the ideal start to begin a career in caring for children or teaching. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working within a Nursery setting and would like to earn whilst gaining a qualification in childcare.

About the role

Greenfields Primary School & Nursery are currently looking to appoint a Nursery Apprentice to complement our successful team. You must possess a natural nurturing ability, want to encourage children to achieve and be a good team player. You will be a good communicator, have a good command of the English language, be trustworthy, reliable, take pride in what you do and above all else, be an exemplary role model to small children.

Who we are looking for

We are providing opportunities for those wishing to embark in a career in childcare to learn about the EYFS whilst having hands on experience in learning to care for children aged 2 to 4 years. You will be working in an environment of highly skilled Nursery staff who will be able to support you and share their learning experiences.

Applicants must be able

To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the EYFS lead or the Nursery Lead

To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others by carrying out on going risk assessment

To assist the Nursery lead in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment

To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school

To develop partnerships with parents/carers increasing their involvement in their child’s learning

To complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship

Hours

The hours are 37 hour a week, Monday to Friday 39 weeks per year, term time only. The hours are flexible and timetabled between the hours of 8am and 6pm. You will attend Tresham college regularly whilst completing in-house internal assessments and observations.
