Nursery Director of Studies

Early Years Nursery Director of Studies required for Lucton Kindergarten in Shanghai. We are looking for an experienced Early Years professional with an Early Years degree or a teaching qualification. The Kindergarten in central Shanghai caters for children from the age of 2 up to the age of 6. Compulsory school doesn't start until the age of 7 in China.

You will be responsible for establishing the UK Early Years curriculum, taught in English within the setting and delivery of the UK curriculum will take up between 70% to 80% of the children's time, with the balance in Chinese. 

The role will include working with children, but is largely supervisory and part of the role will also include training and supporting staff within the setting. It is seen as a high level post, second only to the Principal of the Kindergarten. The nursery  has a capacity for over 200 children. 

The aim of Lucton's Shanghai nursery is to be as true as possible to the ethos and curriculum of the English Early Years delivery as possible, with a small bilingual element for which the candidate will of course, not be responsible.

The package will include accommodation, pension, flights and medical insurance. If at all possible, you would be invited to work at Lucton School in Herefordshire for a few weeks, before leaving for China.
