About the role:  Roundash Nursery at Hartley, now part of Hartley Primary Academy, has a fantastic opportunity for a Nursery Manager to join us and be part of our fantastic team from January 2019.  This is a rare chance to join our school and play a pivotal role in its continued success and development.  Our nursery staff at Hartley Primary Academy provide outstanding education opportunities for children aged from 2 years.  We are looking for an excellent practitioner who will be expected to provide high quality, flexible childcare for families. The Nursery Manager will oversee the operation of the nursery to the highest standards, ensuring that the best possible environment and care are provided for children from 2 years old.  Our successful applicant will have one of the following qualifications and will reflect the salary offered; Level 3 in Childcare, EYPS, EYTS or QTS.

The working basis of this role is 37 hours per week, term time only + 5 inset days. Please note that the salary will be based on our successful candidate's experience.  

We are looking for someone with:

  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, EYPS, EYTS or QTS.
  • Previous, recent experience managing a similar setting.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels.
  • Ability to organise own work and that of others, identify priorities and meet outcomes.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating high levels of drive, enthusiasm and passion with proven ability to motivate others.
  • Excellent written communication with ability to produce and evaluate reports.
  • Up to date knowledge of EYFS framework and other relevant regulations.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding children.
  • Proven success in managing provision and innovative teaching across the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Working for us: Roundash Nursery at Hartley is part of Hartley Primary Academy.  We have 60 spaces for our youngest pupils, Monday to Friday, offering both morning and afternoon sessions. We place a lot of emphasis on outdoor learning and providing both a stimulating learning experience as well as encouraging the children to develop a sense of independence.  At all stages, we focus on progressing children’s skills and knowledge in a safe, caring environment.
