Berkhamsted Pre-Prep is located just outside of the town on the Haresfoot site, which was  acquired by the Berkhamsted Schools Group in June 2012. The School is easily accessible  Berkhamsted Pre-Prep places each child at the centre of everything we do. Wellbeing is our  first priority, and providing a high level of nurture and care is our primary focus.

At Pre-Prep we aim high to give children the best possible start to their education. Learning  opportunities are planned to provide challenge, developing not only knowledge but also the  skills and aptitudes that allow our children to question, debate, collaborate and problem  solve from a very young age.

Children are taught to recognise failure as the key to success and school is a safe space  where mistakes are key to acquiring mastery. Our hope is to encourage their natural  curiosity and passion for learning, laying the foundations that will allow them to make the  most of the opportunities available to them.

The school’s extensive outdoor facilities provide our youngest pupils with amazing  opportunities for investigation and exploration away from the hustle and bustle of the  town’s traffic.

At playtime the children enjoy the open space of their Georgian walled garden where they  can play football, swing on the adventure playground, or relax with outdoor games such as  giant Jenga or table tennis. The sports hall is used for wet playtimes so there is always an  opportunity to let off steam whatever the weather. All children play together at break times  but Stepping Stones, Reception and Berkhamsted Day Nursery each also have their own  fenced gardens which can be accessed directly from their classrooms.

All classrooms have interactive whiteboards, including Stepping Stones and all children have  access to our up-to-date ICT suite.
