Are you experienced in supporting nurseries and looking for an exciting opportunity to help build a strong pre-school community? Then we have the opportunity for you! 

This Nursery Senior Practitioner role is term-time only working from 08:30 – 3.30 Monday – Friday with half hour for lunch. The Nursery is part of a school graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted. 

This Nursery offers career progression and regular training courses as part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership. A great opportunity for an experienced Nursery professional with aspirations to help influence and shape a community-orientated nursery.

In order to be considered for this role, the Nursery Senior Practitioner will need to meet the following criteria:

• Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education (previously known as the NNEB Diploma), Level 3 BTEC in Child and Young Persons Workforce or similar

• A minimum of 2 years recent relevant experience (lead role/management experience is an advantage)

• GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths

• Ability to relate well to both children and adults and promote excellent working practices and positive working relationships

• Strong IT skills with a thirst to keep pace with modern Information Technologies

• Ability to assimilate, share and record information to good effect

• Proven experience engaging with the UK Nursery curriculum within the past two years

• Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes and in particular, barriers to learning

• Ability to assist the Nursery Manager in planning effective actions for pupils at risk of underachieving

• To work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these

• Ability to create, inspire, share and embed good practice within the Nursery

• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS / police checks

• SEN knowledge (desirable)
