Job overview

Richard de Clare Community Academy, Halstead, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, nurturing and experienced nursery practitioner/teacher to lead our nursery team in Knight’s Nursery.  Our provision, that is part of a two form entry primary school, has its own purpose built environment and provides high-quality learning experiences for 3 and 4 year olds. We have a setting that supports, encourages and nurtures young children and their families and has a strong commitment to children learning through play both indoors and outdoors.

The role of the nursery manager will be to provide professional leadership and management of the nursery to deliver the highest standards of care and education. Our ideal candidate would be confident, calm and patient and be highly skilled in building a positive relationship with children and their families. Suitable applicants will need to demonstrate their ability to lead and work as a part of a team, have a sound understanding of child development and the Early Years Framework, have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and show a commitment to supporting children with individual academic, welfare and medical needs.

We require applicants to have at least three year’s experience working in early years and hold a full and relevant qualification in Early Years at Level 3 or above (Early Years Degree preferred).  We are looking for an addition to our wonderful team who has the energy and enthusiasm to make a difference!

We welcome applications from all interested persons who are able to fulfil the person specification and job description. The school fully supports the professional development of all staff and will provide the necessary support and training for the successful applicant. We are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.
