We are looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and experienced team, within our well-equipped and welcoming nursery provision.  The successful candidate will:    

  • Participate in activities designed to meet the emotional, physical and learning needs of individual children and groups of children aged 2-4 years.   
  • Support pupils in developing effective relationships with peers and adults.   
  • Help pupils to develop self-reliance and confidence in a range of areas while helping them deal with their emotions in a positive way   
  • Work under the direction of the Head, Early Years Lead and Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo).   
  • Due to current numbers on role, the successful candidate will initially be deployed across other year groups in the Academy for 16.25 hours.  Support and training will be provided. Once numbers within the nursery increase, the candidate will work within the nursery full time.  

We are a Primary Academy with an attached Nursery, situated in West Swindon, located just off J16 of the M4. There are currently just over 200 pupils on roll and pupils benefit from a modern, purpose built school building with extensive grounds. The Academy is at an exciting stage in its journey and is committed to securing the future of Hazelwood Academy as a centre of excellence and innovation, where talent is nurtured.
