Job overview

About the role:

The academy is delighted to advertise the post of Nurture Teacher to complement our existing ‘Bridge’ provision as our student numbers continue to grow. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and passionate Teacher to lead a nurture provision alongside the SENDCo and to work with some of our key students who require extra support to be truly successful in our school.

This is an exciting time to join the academy following our recent Ofsted ‘Good’ grading and we are open to applicants from a secondary background – or a primary background who are keen to and confident to work with secondary aged pupils.

We are seeking to recruit someone who has the passion and drive to support students to be the best they can be and who is able to develop a nurturing and supportive environment where our students can develop themselves academically, socially and emotionally. This will need to be demonstrated in your application and be clearly evident at interview.

This rewarding setting will require you to focus on the whole child, working with the school's ‘Bridge’ team, in helping students find appropriate ways to engage with learning and social times.

You will engage the children and young people within the school in innovative, supportive and meaningful activities, supporting them in learning and reaching their full potential. We will support you with training and CPD to ensure that you are able to fulfil this role effectively.

What we can offer you:

  • An academy making rapid improvement.
  • Excellent facilities and resources.
  • Access to an outstanding professional development programme.
  • A chance to become part of one of the largest groups of academies in the country.
  • Caring, dedicated and friendly students who want to learn and fulfil their potential.
  • Colleagues who are supportive, friendly and who are committed to each other’s professional development.
  • Opportunities to be creative and to inspire your students.

In return we are looking for:

  • A ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ experienced teacher or a less experienced teacher with the potential to be consistently ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ within a short timeframe.
  • Someone who shares our moral purpose of ensuring that all of our young people receive the best education possible in a supportive environment from people who care about them.
  • Someone who is passionate about teaching and who will inspire our students to be passionate about learning.
  • Someone who has had experience working in a nurture unit or with students who display SEMH needs.

If you possess these qualities and share the Academy’s vision, then we will be delighted to hear from you. Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for further information.
